 2024 LIFEGUARD TRAINING REGISTRATION

Note: Lifeguarding, First Aid and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certification is valid for 2 years. The training/certification classes are for current and prospective employees of Aquatica Pool Management, Inc. 

Payment is due on the first day of in person training and is non-refundable. Should you need to make payment arrangements, contact Jessica Borgard prior to the first day of your selected class training.

AMERICAN RED CROSS LIFEGUARD TRAINING PREREQUISITES

Participants must be able to:

 

DEEP WATER Swim Test will include the following:

  • Swim 300 meters continuously, using these strokes in the following order: 
    100 yards of front crawl using rhythmic breathing. 
    100 yards of breaststroke using pull, breathe, kick, and glide sequence. 
    100 yards of either the front crawl or breaststroke 

  • Starting in the water, swim 20 yards using front crawl or breaststroke, surface dive 7-8 feet, retrieve a 10lb object,   return to the surface, swim 20 yards back to the starting point with the object, and exit the water without using a ladder or steps within 1 minute 40 seconds. 

  • Tread water for 2 minutes without using your arms (using legs only).

 

SHALLOW WATER Swim Test will include the following:

  • Swim 100 meters continuously, using these strokes:  front crawl using rhythmic breathing AND breaststroke using pull, breathe, kick, and glide sequence. 

  • Tread water for 2 minutes without using your arms (using legs only).

  • Starting in the water, swim 20 yards using front crawl or breaststroke, surface dive 5 feet, retrieve a 10lb object, return above the surface, swim 20 yards back to the starting point with the object, and exit the water without using a ladder or steps within 50 seconds. 

 

REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION

Online portion of coursework MUST BE COMPLETED prior to the first day of your skills/water test day. Participant must attend the required number of class day(s) and times, as well as demonstrate proficient land and water skills. 

 

WHAT TO BRING TO CLASS

  • Bathing suit, towel, sun block, pen or pencil, water/lunch/snacks

  • Certificate of Completion from Online portion of class

  • Registration form & waiver

  • Payment for class: Cash or check made payable to Aquatica Pool Management, Inc.
